Summer . . . .

Summer brings new opportunities and challenges. Our VBS is right around the corner and we appreciate those who have volunteered to help this summer. You can still volunteer through the website, at the Info desk, or in the Sunday bulletin.

The Red, White, & Blue Parade will be held on Saturday, June 24th @ 10:30 A.M. Gather at the church parking lot.
Project “417” continues into the summer. Progress is being made and the remodel will be completed soon.

Unlikely

Unlikely . . .
This past Sunday we had our Kids Ministry Christmas presentation. We still do it the old fashion way; kids dress up like animals, pull out the old bath robes for the wise men and bed sheets for the angels. It is old school, grandparents and families gather to watch and take pictures and we always have a few that “make the play”. It is unlikely that we have any one make a decision to give their life to the Lord from such an event. Unlikely. Sunday was an unlikely Sunday as one of the young adults who was brought by a friend prayed to invite Jesus into her life. Unlikely.
How often do we use our family and friends who are in for the holidays as a reason to not attend. We don’t want to interrupt their visit or make them feel uncomfortable so we conform. I hope we can work on that especially during these holidays. Who knows you just might experience an “unlikely” for them.
See you at the candlelight service this Saturday.

December 24th – Christmas Eve Candlelight Service @ 8 P.M.

Crunch Time

If we are talking Baseball it is the bottom of the ninth, footbali it is the final two minutes . . . but if we are talking church, well it is always the last month of the year.

This means it is our crunch time. It is the time we look back over our shoulder and see what was done. How often we took advantage and won. How many prayers did we pray, how many lessons or sermons did we hear, how much money did we give, how many friends did we invite, and what actually changed in our life toward being more like Christ.

Make this time count – it is all you have. I will be seeing you this Sunday as we are running the two-minute drill.

Family, Food & Football

This is one of my favorite holidays for the 3 reasons above. It is my prayer that you will be able to enjoy this day together with family and friends. Take time to be thankful for the blessings you are able to enjoy. Remember those of our church family going through trying times, lift each of them up in your prayers.

Please remember all the upcoming events. These are great times for fellowship.

Thanks to all who helped with our celebration last Sunday and to the guys who finished the kitchen just in time.

We are in need of some more volunteers for Night of Hope. If you could volunteer it would be appreciated. We will have a meeting this Sunday following services.

May you be surrounded by family and friends, filled with some great foods, and may your team win!
